“And this wise man said’ Stop asking God to bless what you’re doing. Get involved in what God is doing – because it’s already blessed.’

Well, God, as I said, is with the poor. That, I believe, is what God is doing.
And that is what He’s calling us to do."

Bono from the rock group U2 at the
2006 National Prayer Breakfast in
Washington D.C., USA

This is from a small book called “On The Move” which is really a transcription from the National Prayer breakfast speech in 2006. It’s not one of your books that will go down in history as one of the two or three great works of classic literature, yet it does capture the essence of what Vineyard Outreach is to be about.

Who are the “Poor”? Those without money, wealth, clout, health, family… Yes and more. Those without a loving, on-going relationship, isn’t that what we all really want and need. We have found this relationship with God; in the person of Jesus Christ and his offer of forgiveness for all of the wrong things we have done… the things that spoil our lives.  This is the best we have to offer when we reach out. As a community of Jesus followers, we want to grow in this and go do it.

We show God's love to others by serving them in simple, practical ways with no strings attached.  From big parties for holidays, Christmas gifts for those who have none, to providing groceries to those in need, and prayer for any and all who come.

God's great love and grace become the guiding force in our life.  We seek to do the things we see the Father doing and to be obedient in building up a community of Jesus followers who are passionate about introducing people to Jesus.  The best part is this… God stays with us when we do these things. He makes them happen.

Do you want to be with God? Then partner with Him and be where he is at, doing what He is doing.

We also do this outside of the South Metro area. We are part of a Vineyard Missions Partnership. Our partnership is with the Midwest Region of the Vineyard USA, and our region of the earth is Central Mexico. We participate by sending teams from SMVC on short-term mission trips to Central Mexico, open and on-going communication with the Missionaries in charge, and through financial support.

If you would like to talk with someone about the different opportunities here at South Metro Vineyard Church, please call the Vineyard office at 952-892-1000.
